Lots of start/sits for Week 5

I've got blogger's block this morning so instead of detailing the meandering thoughts in my head or life in Brooklyn, I'll instead just skip the chit chat and jump right to today's links. Lots to look at:
  • Who doesn't want advice on the Top 5 Most Likely to Go Off - Week 5? See which players are going to knock you over with their stat lines this week. In a good way.
  • Lester's Legends brings us Week 5's Fantasy Football Out on a Limb - will Wells outperform Benson this week?
  • I've got my weekly top links up in the NY Times' Fifth Down - Week 5 in Fantasy Football Matchups - and there's lots of great lineup advice there, too, from the Sablich brothers. They do a fantastic job at responding to start/sit questions in the comments, so ask away!
  • I had a handful of IDPers that I needed to replace for this week's bye so I first turned to FFToday's IDP Notes for the latest and greatest news on the IDP front.
Let's mosey on over to the start/sit advice available for the week:
Rankings for Week 5:
I've been thinking a lot about running my annual accuracy challenge on these weekly rankings - not sure it's something that I can promise to deliver each week but I might take a stab at it one of these weeks. Would that be of interest? I'd try to go back in time to gather weekly rankings from the start of the season, too, and then we'd have a multi-week look at the most accurate weekly rankings. If this sounds as delightful as I think it would be, let me know.

Thanks for linking my out on a limb picks again. Last week you were my good luck charm so hopefully I have similar success.

An accuracy challenge does sound delightful.

An accuracy challenge on the weekly rankings sounds like a ton of work and it certainly is not expected, but would be greatly appreciated. If you decide to proceed it would no-doubt provide the fantasy sports community with 1more reason(as if they even need it) why your website is considered one of the best kept secrets and ultimately a necessity for all serious fantasy owners. Thanks for all you do.

is it time to sell high on Steve Smith (NYG)? Think he can continue to produce like a top 15 WR?

I would love to see accuracy rankings...I do however think they will be all over the map week to week...but it would be cool to see who guessed the best for the year...LOL

I would look to sell Manningham if you can. I think his value dips more when winter kicks in.

Labor Day FF links

Happy long weekend! Here's hoping most of you are free to enjoy the 3-day weekend and the relaxation and fun that comes with it. I spent my Sunday participating in 3 fantasy football drafts scattered throughout the day and night, but I think I've finally wrapped up my drafts for the year. So like many of you I'm now turning my attention to the Week 1 games! But before we get to some player rankings and prep for Week 1, I want to make sure that all you experts out there are aware of the upcoming deadline for the annual accuracy contest that I run with the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. I compare preseason positional rankings from experts to the final outcome of the fantasy season to see which site had the most accurate preseason rankings, and this year's deadline is fast approaching: September 9th by kickoff. Check out the info on the FSTA site for more details and be sure to e-mail me your submissions. Now, onto Week 1! First up, let's get to some of this

2010 Week 2 consensus start/sit

Greetings and happy weekend. I've got this week's consensus start/sit for you which is a tally of all the start/sit votes that players received in the various start/sit articles that I linked to earlier in the week. A hiatus

Update:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that yesterday, August 30th, I delivered our stillborn daughter, Caroline Mary. This has been an almost surreal and definitely heartbreaking experience and I appreciate the support in each and every one of your notes. Caroline will be honored and loved always. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your thoughts and prayers - they mean the world to our family. I have been a very poor blogger this month and feel I owe you all an explanation, particularly as this is crunch time for draft prep. I hope this is not too personal of a look into my life since I know most of you are just here for the football. I am nearly 18 weeks pregnant and we have learned that our baby (a little girl!) has triploidy, a chromosomal abnormality that means she has three copies of every chromosome instead of the normal two. The doctors have explained that it's a completely random occurrence and fairly rare that she has made it this far along, but tha
