Rest-of-season rankings, are you out there?

Before we get to the meat and potatoes today I'd like to actually put out a request to fantasy football content providers: I'm in search of some freely available rest-of-season rankings. I look for these every year but pretty much the only destination seems to be Yahoo's Shuffle Up & Deal rankings, which are great and should come out in a few weeks. But if you've learned anything about me from reading this site, you know I like having lots of articles/rankings/whatever to read. So if anyone knows of other free rest-of-season rankings, please leave a comment for us all with the details. Otherwise, experts, start ponying up those rest-of-season rankings and you're sure to have more readers.

It's Insider, but Eric Karabell does it for ESPN, and he breaks it down via position as well.

There was a web site last season that would combine player projections for both standard and PPR leagues from multiple sources (maybe 10-12). Does anyone know if that site still exists? I cannot remember the name and my favorites were erased in the offseason. Thanks

I completely agree. Last couple of years I followed ESPN's ranks, but now they're behind a paywall (i refuse to pay for insider).

I have a hard time feeling like the Fox rest of season rankings are useful. They have Steve Breaston ranked ahead of guys like Nate Burleson, Steve Smith (Car), David Nelson, and Hines Ward. I know some of those guys aren't amazing, but they are a better option by far than Breaston with the Chiefs offense. Very questionable rankings.

How about just saying thank you for all that she does for us on a daily basis and leave out any of your own original thoughts or judgments.
And putting a smiley face there, doesn't make it any less obnoxious. :).

Two things:

1. Librarian, you're awesome! Thanks for doing all that you do.

2. I also am in search of updated rankings. The start/sits and love/hate type columns are hardly ever that helpful since every team and league situation is different. And people seem to jump on the bandwagon of the obvious pickups each week.

You can get ESPN insider free for 1 month. They are having a promotion. Use it during a month you really need to win - like now.

You can find very cheap subscriptions for ESPN the MAG if you search around the web. I got mine for $16 for 4 years, and Insider is free if you have a subscription.

Please tell me if I'm breaking the rules of etiquette here, because this post is a non sequitur, but for some reason my nerve has left me and I want to ask for opinions - I should give up Hightower for Nicks, right? In a standard scoring league? (I'd also give up Antonio Brown, but, you know, meh.)

Dean, definitely give up Hightower for Nicks...assuming you've got better running backs to start. There's a good chance Hightower has already hit his peak and we have to assume Nicks will have much better games than last week's low volume.

Thanks, guys (I use that to mean "people"). My RBs will be a bit thin - Forte, which is good, obviously, then Tate, Ingram, and I picked up Bernard Scott. So it's a solid RB1 and several RB2/flex-plays. But I'm worried about Helu coming on, and I want to get all the value out of Hightower I can. Thank you for responding.

At StarStreet.com, we have updated rest of season projections every week for the guys in our stock market. We get our stat projections from numberfire.com, who are great. Numberfire does week by week projections for free on their site, but we get their full season updates and display them.

Checked out starstreet.com and numberfire.com. Wow, what a bunch of crap. Don't bother. numberfire.com's top RB pick for this week? Jamaal Charles....yeah. Starstreet.com is basically just a site where players are traded like stocks, people are stupid enough to do this apparently and give starstreet.com a 4% cut while they trade players back and forth.

profootballfocus.com had free rest of season projections last year but none to date this year. I'm wondering if they wait until week 4 or 5 to get a firm grip on projections. We'll see.

A hiatus

Update:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that yesterday, August 30th, I delivered our stillborn daughter, Caroline Mary. This has been an almost surreal and definitely heartbreaking experience and I appreciate the support in each and every one of your notes. Caroline will be honored and loved always. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your thoughts and prayers - they mean the world to our family. I have been a very poor blogger this month and feel I owe you all an explanation, particularly as this is crunch time for draft prep. I hope this is not too personal of a look into my life since I know most of you are just here for the football. I am nearly 18 weeks pregnant and we have learned that our baby (a little girl!) has triploidy, a chromosomal abnormality that means she has three copies of every chromosome instead of the normal two.
