2015 Streaming Defenses: Week 2

Apologies for the slowness on my end - I returned home from my travels to one sick kid, a sick husband, and broken laptop. So I'm slapping a bandaid on things to do and muddling through. Awesome time in Michigan with my family though. Bob is back with your Week 2 Streaming Defense thoughts and I'll have more posts out your way soon!
The first week of Fantasy Football is in the books with the results. How did you do on your Def picks? It was a good week for streaming Defs and I hope you benefited from some starts on Def.

Below are the results using MFL stats and Fantasy Sharks scoring. Suggested streams are outlined in Green. Owned and started are in Blue for start, Yellow for temper expectations and Red for look elsewhere. As you can see four of the six suggested streamers outperformed all but Sea of the owned Defs. Panthers were the number one pick and ended up number one over all. Ten did better than TB and ended up fourth. Rams and Bills still ended up in the top 12 even with tempered expectations. And I warned you about PHI and HOU.
1. Panthers, Carolina CAR Def    23
2. Seahawks, Seattle SEA Def     21
3. Broncos, Denver DEN Def       20
4. Titans, Tennessee TEN Def     20
5. Ravens, Baltimore BAL Def     18
6. 49ers, San Francisco SFO Def 16
7. Dolphins, Miami MIA Def       16
8. Jets, New York NYJ Def            16
9. Rams, St. Louis STL Def            16
10. Lions, Detroit DET Def           14
11. Bengals, Cincinnati CIN Def  13
12. Bills, Buffalo BUF Def             13
13. Chiefs, Kansas City KCC Def  12
20. Buccaneers, Tampa Bay TBB Def       6
22. Eagles, Philadelphia PHI Def 6
23. Packers, Green Bay GBP Def 6
27. Texans, Houston HOU Def   4

So what did we learn? How about our targets? The Titans are off the list of targets. TEN’s new QB is not going to be the patsy we may have thought. Mariota came out throwing short, early, and often and torched the TB defense. Didn’t see that coming, but we can change our expectations going forward. The Jags didn’t disappoint, and will stay the leading target going forward. WAS is also firmly acknowledged as a good target. Foles surprised us and so did the rest of the Rams offense. Even though they gave up 21 points to SEA defense, they are not expected to do that with lesser defenses, so they’re off the list. TB stays on the list until the rookie can prove otherwise, like Mariota did.

So did other targets emerge? It’s only one week, but you’ve got to suspect, dare I say it? The Broncos did not look good (FFLibrarian editorial note: noooooo!). The Ravens were not projected to be a good defense, ranked 14th in cheatsheets, but they put it on DEN even in a loss. I’m thinking DEN is going to have a bad year with a marked decline in Manning magic, so I’m putting them on my ‘watch list’ as a target. The 49ers were supposed to be decimated in Def ranked 16th, but they destroyed MIN. Bridgewater looked like a sophomore slump, so MIN also goes on my ‘watch list’. And OAK looked bad with both Carr and McGloin. CIN was only ranked 15th but put it on the flaying OAK offenses. So OAK goes on my ‘watch list’.

With those observations in mind, what does Week 2 look like? Here are some links to early streaming advice. They may or may not align with my analysis below:

Here are the ownership % and projections for Defs this week of the ‘owned’ defenses. Owned being better than 80%.

So here are the top streams to fill in those blanks above.

I noticed that you are not recommending MIA @ JAX. Too obvious, or am I missing something? Also, what about the Suggs injury?

Labor Day FF links

Happy long weekend! Here's hoping most of you are free to enjoy the 3-day weekend and the relaxation and fun that comes with it. I spent my Sunday participating in 3 fantasy football drafts scattered throughout the day and night, but I think I've finally wrapped up my drafts for the year. So like many of you I'm now turning my attention to the Week 1 games! But before we get to some player rankings and prep for Week 1, I want to make sure that all you experts out there are aware of the upcoming deadline for the annual accuracy contest that I run with the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. I compare preseason positional rankings from experts to the final outcome of the fantasy season to see which site had the most accurate preseason rankings, and this year's deadline is fast approaching: September 9th by kickoff. Check out the info on the FSTA site for more details and be sure to e-mail me your submissions. Now, onto Week 1! First up, let's get to some of this

2010 Week 2 consensus start/sit

Greetings and happy weekend. I've got this week's consensus start/sit for you which is a tally of all the start/sit votes that players received in the various start/sit articles that I linked to earlier in the week. A hiatus

Update:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that yesterday, August 30th, I delivered our stillborn daughter, Caroline Mary. This has been an almost surreal and definitely heartbreaking experience and I appreciate the support in each and every one of your notes. Caroline will be honored and loved always. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your thoughts and prayers - they mean the world to our family. I have been a very poor blogger this month and feel I owe you all an explanation, particularly as this is crunch time for draft prep. I hope this is not too personal of a look into my life since I know most of you are just here for the football. I am nearly 18 weeks pregnant and we have learned that our baby (a little girl!) has triploidy, a chromosomal abnormality that means she has three copies of every chromosome instead of the normal two. The doctors have explained that it's a completely random occurrence and fairly rare that she has made it this far along, but tha
