2015 Streaming Defenses: Week 5

Bob is back with his streaming defense knowledge. Read on and get inspired to make your team a little better in Week 5!

Hello fellow streamers. It was a good week for the streamers in week 4. While you can’t predict all the sleepers, we did pretty well. The top 5 owned recommended averaged 10.2, while our top 5 streamers averaged 11.4. So you see? You can outperform even the top Defenses using judicious streaming.

Below are the results of Week 4 using MFL stats and Fantasy Sharks scoring. Suggested streams are outlined in Blue. Owned and started are in Green for start, Yellow for temper expectations and Red for look elsewhere.

ATL and DET led the list with a couple of pick sixes, which are basically impossible to predict. CAR and DEN came through yet again, so you have got to become a believer, but you don’t have CAR this week due to a bye. GB keeps getting better, and will be highly owned now. The Jets still have a stout Def but have had some good matchups. I love what OAK is doing on Def now and BAL is getting serious on Def. I warned you about HOU, and I think there are a lot of players out there suffering from this early round pick.

The targets changed a bit due to QBs returning. Take CHI and NO off the target list. But you still have to be targeting the following: JAC, CLE, WAS, and SF. HOU and TB are now on the ‘watch list’ due to disappointing play on the offensive side of the ball.

Here are some links to sage streaming advice. As usual, my analysis, may or may not align with the pros.

Here are the ownership and projections for Defs this week of the ‘highly owned’ defenses. Highly owned being better than 80%.

SEA just came off a bad outing against DET. I see more trouble with the hot Bengals. Temper Expectations.

ARI will bounce back this week against the Lions, start 'em
BUF

DEN Def just keeps rolling, roll with them.

NO is showing some stuff, so temper expectations

Thursday night game and IND is starting to warmup and HOU is just terrible. With Luck back, I wouldn't go here
GB

GB's def is confounding even better QBs, start 'em

So I like only four of the highly owned this week, but here are some juicy streams that could outperform. I see the streamers outperforming the highly owned again this week.

NE Def is getting better, use if you don't have any other options.

Top three are against our beloved targets. KC will prove even more effective against CHI than OAK, look for a bounce back for this Def. NE should be able to confound the passing game while allowing some yards on the ground.

Labor Day FF links

Happy long weekend! Here's hoping most of you are free to enjoy the 3-day weekend and the relaxation and fun that comes with it. I spent my Sunday participating in 3 fantasy football drafts scattered throughout the day and night, but I think I've finally wrapped up my drafts for the year. So like many of you I'm now turning my attention to the Week 1 games! But before we get to some player rankings and prep for Week 1, I want to make sure that all you experts out there are aware of the upcoming deadline for the annual accuracy contest that I run with the Fantasy Sports Trade Association. I compare preseason positional rankings from experts to the final outcome of the fantasy season to see which site had the most accurate preseason rankings, and this year's deadline is fast approaching: September 9th by kickoff. Check out the info on the FSTA site for more details and be sure to e-mail me your submissions. Now, onto Week 1! First up, let's get to some of this

2010 Week 2 consensus start/sit

Greetings and happy weekend. I've got this week's consensus start/sit for you which is a tally of all the start/sit votes that players received in the various start/sit articles that I linked to earlier in the week. So while these aren't my personal recommendations, I do think knowing what the consensus is could be of help when making lineup decisions...so enjoy! Note: the players are listed in no particular order. QB Start: Michael Vick, Kyle Orton, Matt Ryan, Jason Campbell Sit: David Garrard, Alex Smith, Jay Cutler, Vince Young, Carson Palmer RB Start: LeSean McCoy, Darren McFadden, Ahmad Bradshaw, Brandon Jackson Sit: Tim Hightower, C.J. A hiatus

Update:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that yesterday, August 30th, I delivered our stillborn daughter, Caroline Mary. This has been an almost surreal and definitely heartbreaking experience and I appreciate the support in each and every one of your notes. Caroline will be honored and loved always. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your thoughts and prayers - they mean the world to our family. I have been a very poor blogger this month and feel I owe you all an explanation, particularly as this is crunch time for draft prep. I hope this is not too personal of a look into my life since I know most of you are just here for the football. I am nearly 18 weeks pregnant and we have learned that our baby (a little girl!) has triploidy, a chromosomal abnormality that means she has three copies of every chromosome instead of the normal two. The doctors have explained that it's a completely random occurrence and fairly rare that she has made it this far along, but tha
